Meet the Johnson family

Steve, Deb and their 2 daughters: Sarah & Anne.

Three years ago, Steve was diagnosed with a rare disease called Mitochondrial Myopathy. This disease has no cure and affects everyone differently. The symptoms range from loss of breath to complete muscle loss. The family was totally unprepared to cope with the crippling disabilities Steve’s condition places on him. Steve is unable to work, move about the house, travel, or climb the stairs in their home forcing him to sleep in a hospital bed in the living room instead of in his own bedroom on the second floor.

The dream for the Johnson family would be to have a first floor bedroom for Steve and Deb to allow Steve the comfort and privacy of his own room.
